Mr Myles Jackson has over 30 years of experience in education, working with learners from kindergarten to Year 13. He has extensive international experience as a principal and teacher in the UK, Thailand, Korea, and Japan. Proficient in the British curriculum, IPC, and IB, Mr. Myles also serves on accreditation teams for international schools and consults for developing schools.
Originally from the UK, Mr Myles studied music at Leeds College of Music and completed his PGCE at Westminster College, Oxford University. He holds a Master’s in Educational Leadership from The College of New Jersey and a Certificate of International School Leadership from the Principals’ Training Centre.
Mr Myles has held key roles, such as Principal at Kyoto International School and Osaka International School, and Founding Principal at the British International Academy in South Korea. He is dedicated to professional development, focusing on child protection, IPC training, EAL, IB workshops, and school accreditation processes, emphasising community spirit, consensus leadership, and transparency.
Ms Tammy Cyngier has a wealth of experience in education and educational leadership, having taught internationally for the past 14 years, with the last 8 of those years spent here at CHIS as a founding staff member.
Ms Tammy graduated from the University of Wales Institute in Cardiff with a degree in Primary Education, earning qualified teacher status. She then pursued a Master’s Degree from the University of York in Teaching English to Young Learners. Currently, Ms Tammy is pursuing her Doctorate in Philosophy (PhD) in Educational Leadership and Management from HELP University.
Ms Tammy is deeply passionate about learning and teaching, striving to provide the best opportunities for learners. She is equally committed to the professional development of teachers. She has been a part of the Cambridge International Certificate and Diploma training qualification as a Programme Leader and serves as a trainer for the International Curriculum Association. Most recently, she delivered Level 2 training at the Malaysian Regional Event.
Mr Khoyes Miah is an accomplished educator with a wealth of experience in teaching and school improvement. He holds a Master’s degree in Chemistry and has taught a range of subjects, including Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Maths. Mr Khoyes is widely recognised as an Advanced Skills Teacher in the UK and has worked with schools across the country, focusing on improving the quality of teaching and learning and school improvement.
Mr Khoyes initially worked as Head of Secondary at an international school in Kuala Lumpur. He then joined CHIS as a Senior Teacher of Physics and soon after, took on the role of Key Stage 4 Coordinator, where he played a vital role in driving initiatives to improve teaching and learning standards in the secondary school. During the COVID-19 pandemic, he led the secondary school’s online learning programme at CHIS, demonstrating his exceptional skills in adapting to new challenges and leading change.
Mr Khoyes was appointed as the Assistant Principal of Secondary, where he continues to make significant contributions to the school’s development. As an Assistant Principal, focusing on teaching and learning systems, he has a proven track record of improving student outcomes by developing and implementing effective systems and instructional programmes. He is an expert in using data to drive instruction and has a deep understanding of how to effectively use technology in the classroom. Mr Khoyes is passionate about education and is dedicated to helping all students reach their full potential. He is committed to ensuring that CHIS is a safe and welcoming environment for all students, staff and families.
Mr James Hadley, originally from the UK, has over two decades of experience in education. Recently, he served as the Executive Principal of the H3 Federation in Camden, London, overseeing three secondary schools with a total of 1,100 students.
Previously, as Principal of Haverstock School in London, he led the school from an OFSTED rating of ‘Requires Improvement’ to ‘Good’ within two years, with over 40% of students gaining entrance to prestigious Russell Group universities.
Mr James has a strong background in History education and began his teaching career as an English teacher in Japan. He holds a National Professional Headship Qualification from University College London, a PGCE in History & Citizenship from the University of Exeter, and a BA (Hons) in History from the University of Sheffield.
His educational leadership philosophy centres on fulfilling a school’s vision, advocating for an academically rigorous curriculum, high-quality training for educators, effective curriculum quality assurance, and high expectations and pastoral care for all students.
Ms Joanne Ong Kee Ling is an accomplished educator with a strong academic background. She graduated from Multimedia University with a Bachelor (Hons) in Multimedia. Her educational qualifications also include the Cambridge International Diploma for Teachers and Trainers (CIDTT), which she obtained in 2010. She recently completed her Masters in Education, specialising in Educational Psychology from Asia e University.
With a wealth of experience spanning 17 years, Ms Joanne has been teaching English, Mathematics, IPC (International Primary Curriculum), and Character Education in various international schools across Malaysia. Her career has seen her hold several middle leadership positions, including Students Affairs Supervisor, Head of Fine Arts, and most recently, the role of Milepost 2 Coordinator. Her extensive academic background and leadership roles make her a valuable asset in the field of education.
Ms Ariana Akhavan is a highly accomplished and dedicated leader in the educational field, specialising in safeguarding, child protection, and curriculum improvement. She holds a BA (Hons) in History from Royal Holloway, University of London, a PGCE in History from Roehampton University, and a Master of Education from St Mary’s University, Twickenham. Additionally, she recently passed the National Professional Qualification of Headship (NPQH) via Best Practice Network.
Ms Ariana has over 14 years of experience in various educational capacities, underscoring her dedication to fostering inclusive and supportive learning environments. Her extensive career includes key roles such as Assistant Headteacher at various schools in London and Surrey, UK, where she demonstrated exceptional skills in strategic planning and leadership. Her commitment to professional development and student welfare has driven significant improvements in school policies and educational programmes. Ms Ariana’s focus on creating a nurturing and inclusive atmosphere highlights her dedication to the holistic development of students.
Ms Rayne Chow Wan Sean has been an integral part of our school community since its founding, contributing significantly as the Head of Languages, overseeing a team of 18 staff members. Her commitment to the school extends beyond her role, as she has actively supported various school events, including coordinating Chinese New Year celebrations.
Ms Rayne brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the Secondary Leadership Team. She holds a Bachelor of Arts (Teaching Chinese as a Second Language) from Shanghai Jiao Tong University, China, and a Master of Teaching Chinese from East China Normal University, Shanghai, China.
With her educational background and experience, she is well-versed in teaching IGCSE, IB, A Level, and HSK syllabi. Having joined CHIS in 2016 as one of our founding members, Ms Rayne has played a vital role in shaping the school’s language program and academic monitoring, and she continues to contribute significantly to the school’s growth and development.
Ms Bridget Platt is an experienced primary school educator with over 24 years of teaching across both the New Zealand and Cambridge curricula. She is passionate about relationship-based teaching and pastoral care, ensuring that every child feels supported, valued, and inspired to achieve their best.
With a strong focus on Literacy and learning support, Ms Bridget has recently completed training in the Structured Literacy programme and is dedicated to helping students develop confidence and mastery in their learning. In her leadership role, she also leads staff professional development, supporting colleagues to upskill in Literacy, ICT, and in effectively running teams of educators. She values collaboration, reflection, and a positive school culture that enables both students and teachers to flourish.
At Crescendo-HELP International School, Ms Bridget is excited to contribute her experience, energy, and care to the community. She enjoys building strong connections with students, families, and staff, and is committed to fostering an engaging, inclusive, and supportive environment both in the classroom and across the wider school. She is proud to serve as Assistant Principal, where she can combine her passion for teaching with her dedication to staff and student success.
Ms Renu, who is originally from KL, has completed her teaching practice specializing in Early Childhood from Montessori Centre International in the UK. She is passionate about working with young children and has obtained multiple certificates in early childhood education.
Ms Renu began her teaching career in 2010. She worked as an Assistant Principal for SS2 in Petaling Jaya, Selangor before moving to Johor Bahru in 2018. She is happily married and has two lovely children. In 2018, she started teaching MP1 students at CHIS.
As a teacher, she believes that active learning that involves fun and movements gives more effectiveness to the lesson. Outside of school you will generally find her busy with family, sampling great food & cooking and adventuring as far as she can with her family.
An enthusiastic child squeals excitedly, “Oh, I get it now!” It is for moments like these that Ms Shalini Prabakaran decided to become a primary school teacher. Ms Shalini started teaching in 2011, after graduating from UNISEL with a B.Ed(Hons)degree specializing in TESL.
Prior to joining CHIS, she has worked with two other international schools in Johor Bahru, which gave her numerous opportunities to work with both secondary and primary students. She believes that a positive attitude and a little smile goes a long way.
Ms Lalita stated teaching in 2011, after graduating from UNISEL with B.Ed.TESL(Hons) and continued her Masters (M.Ed TESL) in University Teknologi Malaysia. She has been working in the teaching field for the past 11 years.
Teaching isn’t her job, it’s her passion. Her great passion in teaching has become the main motivating factor in making it her career. Besides that, she is a well-trained Indian classical dancer as she loves dancing.
Ms Rekha graduated from RoeHampton University, UK and holds a Bachelor (Hons) of Arts in Education. She started her teaching career as a PYP homeroom teacher in Fairview International School Kuala Lumpur in 2012.
After experiencing the IB school for 3 years, Ms Rekha joined Taylor’s International School Puchong in 2015. She worked as part of the leadership team in the process of implementing, monitoring and achieving the school priorities and targets. Ms Rekha served the school as a Year Leader for 3 years before relocating to Johor Bahru. Her experiences as a homeroom teacher have afforded her the opportunity to interact with diverse student populations and engage them in learning. Ms Rekha strives to ensure that every student achieves excellence!
Ms Vanessa obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Education, with a specialisation in English. She has much passion and desire in handling children of all ages. She started teaching in 2011. She first started teaching in Malacca and Kuala Lumpur before she decided to move to Johor Bahru in 2018.
She started her career with CHIS in 2022, teaching Year 5 students. As a teacher, she believes that learning is fun and she loves to see her students loving school and learning. She also loves to dance, as she has been dancing from a very young age.
Ms Grace graduated from University of Hertfordshire, UK and obtained her MBA from Asia Metropolitan University. She also pursued a Diploma in Educational Studies from College of Teachers in UK. Prior to teaching at international schools, she has been lecturing at colleges in Kuala Lumpur and Johor Bahru.
She has extensive experience working with children of all ages and enjoys supporting her students as they learn through an inquiry approach. She is very dedicated, resourceful and goal-driven professional educator with a solid commitment to the social and academic growth and development of every child. She abides by the principle that a happy teacher creates a happy school.
During her free time, she loves reading, enjoying nature and watching movies with her two children.
Ms Cara is a passionate educator with over 20 years’ experience working in a variety of educational settings including primary, secondary, post-16 and training. Crescendo-HELP International School is her first international post after moving to Malaysia from the UK, where she has first joined us as a Food Technology teacher.
Ms Cara has an honours degree in Education and a Secondary PGCE in Design Technology with a specialism to teach Food Technology. She has spent the last 10 years teaching food and nutrition and design technology in a secondary school in Lancashire, where she held numerous roles including PSHE Co-ordinator and Subject Leader for food and nutrition.
Ms Lisa is a passionate and dedicated educator with a BA in English Language and Literature from the University of Newcastle and has over 20 years of teaching experience across the UK, Spain, and Malaysia.
In the UK, she spent 12 years teaching English, Media Studies, A-level Sociology, and A-level English Literature, while also taking on leadership roles as Assistant Head of Year and Head of English for seven of those years.
She then taught English in Spain for seven years, serving as Head of Year, before moving to CHIS, where she has been teaching for the past year. Ms Lisa is now delighted to step into the role of Key Stage Three Coordinator, a position she hopes to approach with energy, commitment, and enthusiasm. As a person, Ms Lisa has fallen in love with Malaysia as a country: as a result of its scenic beauty, the warmth of the people and its delicious cuisine.
Ms Winny obtained her Master’s Degree in Chemistry and has taught Chemistry and Science for many years. Prior to teaching at CHIS, she had taught A-Levels and Foundation Programmes at universities and colleges since year 2010.
She is a trained Cambridge A-Levels Chemistry teacher and also has experience as a University Placement advisor who gives guidance and advice on university applications. She is a passionate teacher who wants to make a difference in her students’ lives.
During her free time, she enjoys watching movie with her family.
Ms Lilliani is an experienced and passionate educator with over a decade of experience in international education. She has previously held key leadership and teaching roles, including Deputy Head of Mathematics (Secondary), and Educational Technologist. She has taught Mathematics across Key Stage 3 to IGCSE, as well as Physics, and Lower Secondary Science. She has involved in whole-school initiatives in instructional coaching, academic oversight, and the administration of internal and external examinations.
Ms Lilliani holds a Master of Engineering (Telecommunications Engineering) and a Bachelor of Electronic Engineering (Wireless Communication) from Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka. Her unique journey from the engineering field to education reflects her strong analytical skills, creativity, and commitment to lifelong learning.
She is deeply dedicated to supporting the holistic growth of her students, fostering resilience, curiosity, and a love for learning. Outside of school, Ms Lilliani enjoys playing badminton, going on camping adventures and listening to music as a way to recharge and stay inspired.
Ms Hazila has a Master’s degree in Physics granted by Universiti Teknologi Malaysia. Before joining CHIS, she taught Physics and Mathematics for more than 10 years at a private college and several international schools in Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya and Johor Bahru.
During her career, Ms Hazila has contributed significantly as a Physics Team Leader, Expedition Campus Leader as well as a supervisor for many successful students’ projects. She believes by being a proactive and caring teacher, she can help students to find their true potential. Ms Hazila loves spending time with her kids and always finds time to go on picnics and camping together.
Mr Will studied Outdoor Education, specialising in Geography, at Liverpool John Moores University, before completing his PGCE in Secondary Geography at the University of Worcester. He also holds a TEFL qualification, which gave him the opportunity to teach English in Hangzhou, China, in 2019.
He began his teaching career in the UK in 2021 and joined CHIS in 2024 as a Geography teacher, form tutor and House Coordinator. In 2025, he was appointed Head of Year 10, where he is dedicated to supporting students through their transition into IGCSE and helping them succeed both academically and personally. Outside the classroom, Mr Will enjoys outdoor pursuits, travel and exploring new cultures.
Mr Connor studied History at the University of Kent before completing his Postgraduate Diploma in Education (PGDE) through the Teach First programme at Birmingham City University. He taught History in the UK for four years, where he also served as Second in Department. During this time, he completed his National Professional Qualification in Leading Teaching (NPQLT), furthering his skills in middle leadership.
Mr Connor joined Crescendo-HELP International School in 2023, and in 2024, he assumed the role of Head of Year. In his free time, he enjoys travelling, especially around South East Asia, as well as reading, running, and playing and watching football.
Mr Tan joined CHIS as a Secondary Mandarin teacher. He earned his Bachelor Degree (Hons) from University of Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR), majoring in Chinese Studies. He enjoys teaching, and has taught in Chinese Independent school and International school in Kuala Lumpur.
During his leisure time, he enjoys playing badminton, jogging and philosophizing. His next life challenge is to experience the way of St. James.
Dr. Hina Khan is a dedicated educator with over 20 years of experience in teaching IGCSE and A Level Biology. An M.B.B.S graduate with a passion for fostering a love of science in her students, Dr. Hina has honed her skills at an international school in Kuala Lumpur, where she embraced the diverse learning environment. With a Bachelor in Education and a CICTL qualification, she brings a wealth of knowledge and innovative teaching strategies to her classroom.
Since joining CHIS in 2023, Dr. Hina quickly made her mark, being appointed as the Eco-School Coordinator, where she integrated her commitment to sustainability into the educational experience. Her expertise and enthusiasm inspire students to explore the wonders of Biology while nurturing a sense of environmental stewardship.
She is now the Head of Year for Form 6. In her free time, Dr. Hina enjoys coffee, reading, traveling, and playing with her cat.
Ms Ee Kee is a passionate educator and one of the founding members of CHIS. With over a decade of teaching experience, she brings expertise and creative leadership to her role as Head of The Arts, overseeing the Art, Drama, and Music departments.
She holds a Bachelor (Hons) in Contemporary Music from UCSI University and a Master’s Degree in Music Education from the National Taichung University of Education.
Ms Ee Kee is dedicated to providing students with meaningful opportunities to express themselves through music and believes strongly in the importance of creativity in every child’s learning journey.
Mr Kent is the dedicated Head of Mathematics, bringing a powerful foundation in advanced science and engineering to his pedagogical practice. His distinguished academic background includes both a Bachelor’s and a Master’s Degree in Biomedical Engineering from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), further reinforced by a Master of Science from the Technological University Ilmenau (TU Ilmenau). This unique combination of technical expertise and educational leadership informs his strategic approach to mathematical instruction.
His extensive experience spans multiple educational frameworks, establishing him as a versatile and expert educator. Mr. Kent has taught across various foundation programs, including the Australian Matriculation, and is a specialist within the Cambridge Program. His repertoire covers demanding subjects such as Physics, Mathematics, Additional Mathematics, and Further Mathematics.
As Head of Mathematics, Mr Kent champions a student-centric educational philosophy focused on Meaningful Learning. He is known for utilising various teaching approaches to introduce complex concepts, always challenging students to understand the fundamental question of ‘what and why we need to learn.’ His dedication ensures that students not only excel in mathematical skills but also appreciate the real-world relevance of their studies.
Ms Nantini is a dedicated professional with a diverse educational background and a wealth of experience in the field of education. With a Bachelor’s Degree in Biotechnology from AIMST University and a Cambridge International Certificate in Teaching and Learning, Ms Nantini has honed her teaching skills and expertise in English language and literature through online courses in Cambridge Lower Secondary English teaching and English Literature.
Over the years, Ms Nantini has held several key roles in the education sector, showcasing her commitment to fostering a conducive learning environment. From 2012 to 2017, she served as an Exam Officer, meticulously managing examination processes, ensuring integrity, and creating a smooth experience for students.
Currently, Ms Nantini serves as the Acting Head of the English Department since January 2023. In this position, she plays a pivotal role in leading the department, ensuring the effective delivery of the curriculum, and fostering student achievement and collaborating with fellow educators.
Ms Nantini is instrumental in developing innovative teaching methods and materials, while also providing guidance and mentorship to junior staff members.Having joined CHIS in 2019, Ms Nantini has shown continuous growth, dedication, and commitment to the institution’s values and goals.
Ms Aenie holds a Bachelor Degree in Languages and Linguistics (Major in Chinese Language) in University of Malaya. She has also obtained her additional teaching qualification in Teachers of Chinese as A Foreign Language at Beijing International College.
Prior to CHIS, she was teaching IGCSE as well as Mandarin Language B for the IB Diploma program. She is also a qualified HSK and YCT examination coordinator. She enjoys travelling and listening to music.
Ms Rachel Crowley leads the Humanities Department at Crescendo-HELP International School (CHIS), overseeing History, Geography, Psychology, Business Studies, Economics, and Accounting. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Film Studies from the University of Kent, UK, and a Master’s degree in Human Rights and Genocide Studies from Kingston University, UK.
Prior to joining CHIS, Ms Rachel taught in the United Kingdom for five years before moving internationally to China, where she gained extensive experience in curriculum development and leading student initiatives.
Mr Sajith M. Babu brings over 23 years of teaching and leadership experience in Computer Science and Design & Technology. He holds two Master’s degrees – one in Computer Science (2001) and another in Artificial Intelligence (2023) – and is internationally certified in Ethical Hacking (CEHv10), AWS Development, Machine Learning & Deep Learning with Python, Full Stack Java Development, and Android App Development.
Beyond teaching, he is highly experienced in Lego Robotics, Arduino programming, and engineering-based subjects such as Engineering Mechanics & Graphics, Digital Signal Processing, Signals & Systems, DBMS, Microprocessors (8085/8086), Microcontrollers (8051), Digital Electronics, Data Structures, and Computer Organization & Architecture. He is also an active contributor beyond academics, serving as a Coach for Shuttle Badminton, encouraging students to pursue excellence both in academics and sports.
With his vast expertise, international certifications, and proven leadership, Mr. Sajith continues to inspire students to embrace technology, creativity, and innovation – equipping them with the skills required for success in the 21st century.
Mr Ruffie holds an Honours Degree in Football Studies from the University of Bedfordshire, England, and is a qualified UK Level 2 Football Coach. He also played in the lower semi-professional divisions in the UK.
He began his career as a PE teacher at an international school in Sungai Buloh, where he worked for six years and coached at football academies in Shah Alam. Among his achievements are leading students to FOBISIA in Thailand, winning the ISAC U15 Boys’ Football Championship, finishing runners-up with the girls’ team, among many more others throughout the years.
Since moving from Kuala Lumpur to Johor Bahru, Mr. Ruffie has been part of CHIS, first as a PE teacher and now as Head of Physical Education, where he continues to develop a dynamic and inclusive sports programme.
Originally from Kuala Lumpur, Ms Catriona (better known as Ms Cat) relocated to JB to take on the role of Head of Learning Pathways. She has had the privilege of serving as a Learning Support Teacher at HELP International School (HIS) and a Psychology Lecturer at Taylors College, where she had the opportunity to support students’ growth for over a decade.
With a Master’s degree in Psychology of Child and Adolescent Development from York St. John University and a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Bemidji State University, her academic journey has been quite rewarding. She also successfully completed the Cambridge International Certificate in Teaching and Learning (CICTL), and is trained to conduct ASDAN’s Key Steps and Personal Development Programmes. During her time with HIS, she was appointed as an Interim SENCO, reflecting her commitment to inclusive education. Beyond her professional life, Ms Cat is a certified PADI Divemaster, showcasing her love for underwater exploration.
Ms Bhanumathi Kunchi Kanan is a graduate of the University of Hull, UK, with a Masters in Business Administration (Finance). With over 15 years of experience in General Management and Marketing, she brings a wealth of knowledge to her role.
Additionally, she pursued and completed a Diploma in Psychology from ACC Counselling School in Singapore, enhancing her capabilities to address the growing challenges among today’s youth. Ms Bhanumathi joined CHIS in 2017.
Ms Ming Kin is a qualified accountant and proud graduate of Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), where she earned a First-Class Honours degree in Accountancy. She is also an Associate Member of the Chartered Tax Institute of Malaysia (CTIM) and Fellow Member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA). With over 10 years of experience in finance and management, she has overseen cashflow, budgeting, financial reporting, taxation and internal control in leading organisations. She has also contributed to key projects that strengthened business operations and long-term sustainability.
At CHIS, Ms Ming Kin is dedicated to ensuring the school’s resources are managed wisely and effectively, supporting both students and teachers in reaching their full potential.
Ms Shamini Sally has completed her Master in Human Resource Development from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM). With over 20 years of experience, she is a seasoned HR practitioner, having worked in a fast-paced business environment and multinational corporations.
Ms. Mera Vasanthakumaran completed her Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering from Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS). Before joining CHIS, she served as an ICT teacher in a computer school for 5 years, where she trained students for ICAS (International Competitions and Assessments for Schools) and MOS (Microsoft Office Specialist) exams. Ms. Mera also worked as a Desktop Engineer and Trainer at a school in Singapore for 2 years.
Ms Eswary holds a Master of Counselling from the International Medical University (IMU), Kuala Lumpur, and a Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Psychology from Sunway University. She is also a Registered and Licensed Counsellor with the Board of Counsellors, Malaysia. Her counselling experience spans children, teenagers, young adults, and the elderly. She has served at the Malaysia Mental Health Association (MMHA), the Young Women’s Christian Association (YWCA), IMU Mind Health Centre, and the University Malaya Medical Centre’s Falls Clinic, where she supported clients with geriatric concerns, particularly stress, depression, and anxiety.
In these roles, she provided individual and group counselling, career guidance, mental health assessments, and creative interventions. She has also worked as a special needs teacher, supporting children with learning differences through evidence-based interventions.
At CHIS, Ms Eswary serves as the School Counsellor, focusing on students’ mental health, wellbeing, and personal growth through a safe, empathetic, and inclusive approach. Beyond work, she enjoys journalling, gratitude practice, exploring nature, long drives, and reading on psychology, spirituality, and self-development. She also loves watching movies, following reality shows, and listening to music as a way to relax and recharge.
Ms Tyan’s journey into working with children began after she discovered that her true passion lay beyond the world of business. Over the years, she has developed expertise in child-centered approaches through her work as a child therapist.
She is a Registered Counsellor in Malaysia and holds a Master’s degree in Counselling, with elective studies focused on Marriage and Family. She believes that “it takes a village to raise a child” and values a systemic approach that engages all stakeholders.
Ms Tyan has worked across diverse educational and social settings and has volunteered with multiple NGOs, supporting children’s holistic development and well-being both locally and overseas.
